Proclamations

The issuance of proclamations by the Mayor of Boulder City serves to recognize significant events, public observances, celebrations or contributions to the community. This procedure outlines the process for submitting and issuing proclamations.

The issuance of proclamations are honorary and not legally binding.   Proclamations acknowledge the effort and commitment of an organization or individual(s) but does not constitute official sponsorship of a particular viewpoint, matter or event.

 Process for Issuing Proclamations

1. Request Submission:

• Requests for proclamations shall be submitted in writing by clicking here or by emailing cityclerk@bcnv.org.
• Requests must include a draft of the proclamation text and proposed issue date.
• Proclamations are not issued more than 30 days in advance.
• Proclamations are not automatically reissued each year.
• Proclamations are not issued to honor birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, graduations, or achievements.  Certificates are available upon request for these types of events.

 2. Review and Approval:

• The City Clerk’s office will review each request and reserves the right to modify or rewrite language at their discretion.    
•  The Mayor reserves the right to approve or decline any request.  

3. Issuance:

• Approved proclamations will be signed by the Mayor and may be issued in both digital and physical formats.  
• Proclamations may be shared on the City’s social media platforms.
